During a recent interview with the It’s My Wrestling Podcast, former WWE Superstar Charlie Haas discussed a variety of topics. During the interview, Haas was asked to share his thoughts on Olympic gold medal winner Gable Steveson signing with WWE.

Haas would make the following comments:

“The good thing is that he has been a wrestling fan his whole life. He went to the University of Minnesota because Brock (Lesnar) and Shelton (Benjamin) went there. If you’re a heavyweight you go there to become national champion. Brock won the national title. Gable won the national title. I think Steveson will do well because he is a fan, he is very well spoken and man he is athletic as all hell. He can pull off things like standing backflips you know? He’s got the work ethic too, and he’s a big guy. He’ll do well for sure.”

WWE fought off strong interest from UFC to sign Gable Steveson and the Olympic hero was even rumoured to be on the radar of Tony Khan and AEW. Steveson is currently training in the WWE Performance Center ahead of a potential main roster debut and fans believe he will receive a major push when he does eventually debut.

How do you think Gable Steveson will fare in WWE? Will he forever be compared to previous Olympic athletes turned wrestlers such as Kurt Angle and Mark Henry? Let us know below in the comments!
