Chris Jericho once again sent shock waves throughout the world of wrestling over the weekend when it was announced that he will challenge Kazuchika Okada at Dominion for the IWGP Heavyweight Championship.

This led to some speculation that perhaps All Elite Wrestling and New Japan Pro-Wrestling were beginning to form some sort of working relationship.

However, Dave Meltzer stated emphatically on the most recent Wrestling Observer Radio, that is not the case.

Even without the report from Dave, both Chris Jericho and Kenny Omega have been very open about the fact that they both have clauses in their contract that allows them to work with New Japan Pro-Wrestling on special occasions, should they choose to do so.

Of course, before the creation of All Elite Wrestling, Chris Jericho and the members of The Elite were a huge part of the Japanese promotion and arguably the centerpiece of their expansion into the West.

Given Chris Jericho’s ability to shock the world, do you think there is any chance he walks away from the match with Okada as the IWGP World Heavyweight Champion? Sound off in the comments section.
