As seen at Sunday’s WWE WrestleMania Backlash pay-per-view event in Tampa, Florida at Yuengling Center on Peacock, The Miz and Damien Priest worked a lumberjack match with zombies.
This was done to promote the “Army of the Dead” film starring former WWE star Batista. However, fans voiced their criticism about it on social media.
Chris Jericho took to Twitter to write, “Zombies…ZOMBIES? Wow that just set wrestling back 30 years.”
The phrase “set wrestling back 30 years” is a reference to a quote from a WWE official who “hated” the inaugural Blood and Guts match, which Jericho was part of.
Zombies…ZOMBIES? Wow that just set wrestling back 30 years.
