Chris Jericho On Vince McMahon’s Reaction To Him Using Banned Terms

All Elite Wrestling (AEW) star Chris Jericho took to his podcast “Talk Is Jericho” to talk about several professional wrestling topics. During the show, Jericho talked about using banned terms with Vince McMahon backstage. The conversation started after his guest, Diamond Dallas Page, corrected Jericho – who called his yoga program, DDPY, simply, “yoga”.

Jericho joked that Page sounded like Vince McMahon when correcting the banned terms Jericho once used backstage, such as “belt”:

“‘Hey Vince, I don’t know if I should lose the belt.’ [Imitating McMahon] ‘The what?’ ‘Sorry, the title.'” Jericho said. “You couldn’t say ‘belt’ because a belt is what you use to hold up your pants.”

McMahon also isn’t fond of calling fans “marks”:

“You couldn’t say ‘fans’ because it’s the ‘WWE Universe’,” Jericho said. “And never say ‘marks’ because [imitating McMahon] ‘they’re not marks – they’re our fans!’

Jericho also revealed that McMahon prefers the term “favors” to “job”:

“And the other one is the ‘job’,” Jericho said. “[Imitating McMahon] ‘Uh uh. We do favors, not jobs.’ The Vince verbiage!”
