Chris Jericho Talks Original Plan for Himself and Mickey Rourke at WrestleMania 25

When speaking to Inside The Ropes, Chris Jericho talks in-depth about his rumored matchup against Mickey Rourke at WrestleMania 25.

Jericho says that the match was going to happen, it was going to be an attraction at that year’s WrestleMania. However, Mickey Rourke jumped the gun and called out Chris Jericho prior to the Oscars, which made Mickey’s representation mad because Mickey was going to win an Oscar for his performance in the 2008 film, The Wrestler, and his representation felt that he would not win the award if he was seeing working with WWE.

Jericho then goes on to talk about how he pitched for Jerry Lawler to be in the legends Gauntlet Match that Jericho participated in as a Vince McMahon conceived redirection for the Mickey Rourke feud.
