Chuck Palumbo Talks Why Sean O’Haire Never Became A Star In WWE

Former WWE and WCW World Tag Team Champion Chuck Palumbo has talked about why Sean O’Haire never made it as a star in WWE. Palumbo was a one-time WCW World Tag with O’Haire, and the pair were the final team to hold the belts before WCW was purchased by WWE.

Speaking on the That 90’s Wrestling Podcast, Palumbo had this to say:

“He was always cool with me. He was a bit on the wild side, he had some demons. And, I think his biggest struggle was that navigation part, navigating through the business. He was a pretty much straightforward guy, and he had no time for the BS that goes on in the business at that time. You have to be patient, you have to bite your tongue. You have to be careful whose feet you step on, it’s a very touchy business….

Sean had no time for that, and he wasn’t going to put up with that so I think that may have hindered him a bit. Because, you know he still had a lot to learn, but his God-given ability, I mean six-foot-four/ six-foot-five, two-hundred and seventy-five pounds, fantastic athlete, looks the part. Just very impressive, had that mean aggressive look about him. Unfortunately, things happen but he could have been that top guy.”

O’Haire would have his singles debut in WWE playing “The Dark Advocate” character. He would go on an undefeated streak, alongside encouraging people to perform sinful acts. He was then paired with Roddy Piper, however the run was cut short after Piper was released and O’Haire was injured in a motorcycle accident. Upon his recovery he would be sent back to OVW (Ohio Valley Wrestling) before being released by WWE.

Sean O’Haire, real name Sean Christopher Haire would tragically pass away in 2014 after committing suicide.
