Claudio Castagnoli defeated Jonathan Gresham at Death Before Dishonor to become the new ROH World Heavyweight Champion. It was reported that Gresham had a falling out with AEW CEO Tony Khan prior to the show, which resulted in Gresham quitting both promotions.
Castagnoli was asked about the situation regarding Gresham after his panel at Starrcast V. The new ROH Champion said the following:
“I really enjoyed the match, you know? And whatever else he decides to do, you need to ask him that.”
Gresham did appear at the “Ric Flair’s Last Match” event this past weekend to earn a shot at the PROGRESS World Championship. Whether or not he will make amends with Tony Khan remains to be seen.
