Speaking on The Kurt Angle Show, Claudio Castagnoli addressed his WWE departure earlier this year.
Castagnoli became a free agent in February after not being able to reach an agreement for a new deal. He debuted for AEW at the Forbidden Door crossover show with NJPW in June.
He explained why he chose to leave the company, and it just came down to time. He said,
“I’m always happy and grateful, but I also kinda knew where I was thought of. So, I was just looking for something different. When I look at AEW. there’s so many guys that I want to be in the ring with that I haven’t necessarily been in the ring with.”
