Earlier this week, a fan account of the Young Bucks took to Twitter to post a photo of The Elite (The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega) and Cody Rhodes. The photo looks to be on the eve of AEW’s first Double or Nothing pay-per-view event in 2019, with all four men standing together.

This led to an exchange over Twitter, with Cody himself chiming in about his departure from AEW. Rhodes insisted that it had nothing to do with issues between himself and any of The Elite. He also shot down the idea that he left because of issues with CM Punk. Cody wrote,

“I didn’t leave because of the Bucks/Kenny. I’m forever bonded to those men over what we created and I remain very proud of it, and I didn’t leave because of/or have issues with Punk. We got along. Not money, not booking, just a personal issue and my wanting to go for the big one.”

The American Nightmare returned to WWE at WrestleMania 39, defeating Seth Rollins in his return match for the company.
