During a recent edition of his podcast, Jim Cornette claimed that AEW President Tony Khan was interested in signing Goldberg and wanted to do another long-term “streak” angle similar to what Goldberg did in WCW. Cody Rhodes took to Twitter today to shoot down those claims.
For what it’s worth, Cornette only said Khan wanted to sign him but never said the two sides had any contract. Goldberg still has two years left on his WWE contract, which requires two matches per year.
Cody said,
“This isn’t real. We had no contact ha.”
