Cody Rhodes tore his pectoral muscle before his Hell in a Cell match. Although he’s out of in-ring action, he still has time to acknowledge the importance of fan criticism. Rhodes sent out a solitary tweet last night, calling out anyone who shames the fans.
To wrestlers who don’t have a victim complex. The ones who hear/respect the audience cheer & boo, keep their chin up…realizing very few people can do what we do. The ones who put in the effort
The ones who don’t try to shame the fans realizing without them, we ain’t sh!t pic.twitter.com/xeSQqtceEo

Some speculated the tweet references Eddie Kingston coming to the defense of Adam Cole’s physique. For now, it appears Rhodes holds no ill will to anyone who boos him. The tweet also aligns with the advice John Cena gave Rhodes regarding fan criticism. Rhodes received some boos before leaving AEW. Cena told Rhodes to “look in the mirror” and decide whether he was doing something wrong. He also told Rhodes he needed to be “honest with himself” about fans booing him.
Reports have stated Rhodes might be away from in-ring competition for nine months. Cody does appear to be a heavy favorite to win the 2023 Royal Rumble match. A Royal Rumble return would be a massive moment to kick off the new year. As for now, fans may have to wait and see whether Rhodes makes a quicker-than-expected recovery.
