Cody Rhodes is working his way back to the ring after tearing his pectoral muscle over the summer. Even with the torn muscle, Cody still gutted his way through his Hell in a Cell match against Seth Rollins. He has not competed since June as he’s been recovering from the injury.
Fightful Select have some details about how Cody is rehabbing his injury and getting back to ring shape. Sources close to the situation say that Cody has been at the WWE Performance Center as recently as late December. Members of Cody’s family and team were present, as well.
According to the report, Cody handpicked NXT Superstars Carmelo Hayes and Joe Gacy to work with for his in-ring return. The American Nightmare is expected to be back for the Royal Rumble, and he’s been hyping up his return on recent episodes of RAW. Cody will figure heavily into this year’s WrestleMania, as has been the plan since the fall.
