UFC mega-star Conor McGregor seemingly announced his retirement from mixed martial arts (MMA) competition earlier today (Tues. March 26, 2019). The former “Champ Champ” posted the following on Twitter early Tuesday morning:

“Hey guys quick announcement, I’ve decided to retire from the sport formally known as “Mixed Martial Art” today. I wish all my old colleagues well going forward in competition. I now join my former partners on this venture, already in retirement. Proper Pina Coladas on me fellas!”

This isn’t the first time McGregor has retired via Twitter. He did so as well back in 2016 when negotiations with the UFC became tough. However, it remains to be seen if “The Notorious” is serious about actually hanging up his gloves this time around. His last fight resulted in a fourth-round submission loss to lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 229 in October.

Shortly after McGregor’s announcement, WWE star Finn Balor responded, suggesting he’d see his fellow countryman at WrestleMania 35 in New Jersey next month:
