As previously reported here on eWn, WWE Hall of Fame Jim Ross is expected to make his return to WWE at WrestleMania 33. According to reports, “Good Ole’ JR” recently signed a new deal that will see him return at WrestleMania 33 to call the Goldberg vs. Brock Lesnar WWE Universal Championship match. Ross’ new deal with WWE also calls for him to make occasional appearances on television and for material on the WWE Network, documentaries, etc.
Jim Ross’ new WWE deal will preclude him being involved with the new World of Sports series in the UK. As reported, Ross called the pilot for the show, but that will not change his status with New Japan on AXS TV. JR and WWE reached a deal several weeks ago, prior to the tragic passing of his wife Jan.
