Veteran wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer has blasted a recent WWE NXT 2.0 match as “ungodly awful” and questioned whether one wrestler should be wrestling at all.
On the July 12th episode of NXT 2.0, Indi Hartwell clashed with Lash Legend and picked up the win in under four minutes.
The match saw Hartwell failing to hit a Springboard Elbow on Legend before getting the win.
Speaking on the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, both Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez had harsh words for the match. Meltzer said:
“This was a legit negative star match. I don’t know if it was the worst match of the year, but it was absolutely a candidate for the worst match of the year. This was ungodly awful. It was like, they couldn’t work together, Lash Legend can’t do anything.”
Alvarez found some irony with the botched Springboard Elbow:
“It’s Lash that can’t do anything but Indi goes off the one thing that she can do, which is a Springboard.”
Alvarez later called the match “a disaster.”
