Following Booker T’s recent return to Reality of Wrestling, a fan asked him on Twitter if he and his brother Stevie Ray were finally going to accept the challenge that FTR made earlier this year. The two-time WWE Hall of Famer replied, “If they stop running.”
Dax Harwood from FTR has responded on Twitter saying, “Book…have you seen my abs? Me either; I ain’t running nowhere.”
Harlem Heat vs. FTR would be a dream match for both fans and FTR who laid out a challenge to the WWE Hall of Fame tag team back in March.
It’s hard to imagine this match coming true with Booker T still being associated with WWE through a legends contract. Also, his brother Stevie Ray has not been active in wrestling in many years outside of a few matches in 2015. This brief 2015 run included a reunion with Booker T at the Reality of Wrestling “Final Heat” event in what was expected to be the Harlem Heat’s last match.
With FTR’s current momentum since turning babyface in AEW, it appears there may now be some serious consideration into making it happen. Booker T has stated in recent interviews that he’d be open to it. Also, FTR’s proven ability to have incredible matches with any opponents they face could also provide the Harlem Heat with the perfect bookend to their incredible career.
