Diamond Dallas Page was a recent guest of Bill Apter on the WrestleBinge by Sportskeeda podcast, where the WWE Hall of Famer gave his opinions on Cody Rhodes’ return to in-ring competition at this year’s Royal Rumble pay-per-view event, as well as the upcoming WrestleMania 39 main event between Rhodes and Undisputed Universal Champion Roman Reigns.
You can check out some highlights from the podcast below:
DDP on Cody Rhodes returning at Royal Rumble earlier this year: “He was coming back to make an impact. He had it all laid out, envisioned. But now you’ve gotta go out there and do it, and, when he showed up at ‘Mania for that first match that him and Seth [Rollins] had, that’s coming in and making impact. Then that second match, then the third match. Going into that third match, before he tore his pec, his vision couldn’t have been any clearer. What should’ve taken nine months to come back from a torn pec, for him to be able to come back in seven months for the Rumble, that’s destiny.”
On how WrestleMania 39 is a battle of family legacies: “This is family legacy against family legacy, at an all-time high. The top babyface is Cody Rhodes right now. They want to see him win not just for him, but for his dad, for his family, for his legacy. It’s the best personal angle that wrestling has had in years.”
