Diamond Dallas Page recently appeared on Busted Open Radio to discuss one opportunity he wished he could have had when he was in WWE.
Page, who was a four-time WCW World Heavyweight Champion, dubbed himself the “People’s Champ” in WCW; akin to The Rock’s mantra in WWE as the “People’s Champion.”
When Vince McMahon purchased WCW, Page was already well removed from the world title scene, but if Page had it his way he would have liked to defend the world title against The Rock. He said,
“I wouldn’t change a thing, not even the way I came into WWE. Wasn’t my favorite. … But, you know, coming in there and not getting what I wanted; People’s Champion versus People’s Champion, you know, it’s why I’ve been so successful following that, you know? The biggest lesson I’ve learned is you can’t be afraid to walk away from the table when you know you’ve got something.”
