During a recent interview with Sportskeeda, Don Callis commented on Rich Swann’s upcoming debut for iMPACT! Wrestling and more. You can check out some highlights below:
On Rich Swann’s arrival in iMPACT! Wrestling: “Rich is a guy that has resurfaced on the independent scene, working for a bunch of independent promotions. His wife (Impact Knockout Su Yung) works for us and was an advocate for him coming in. So yeah, he’s going to be at our next set of tapings. He’ll get an opportunity in the same way that other talent that comes in gets an opportunity to show what they can do!”
On Alberto El Patron’s iMPACT! Wrestling release: “I think a lot of that has been covered. I don’t have anything new to add to that. I certainly wish Alberto all the best in the stuff that he’s doing in his life.”
On the company’s plans for the iMPACT! Grand Championship down the line: “To be determined. But if you watch our show, we introduced some new titles- new World title, new X-Division title, new Knockouts title and new Tag Team title. So, that may give you an indication of where the priorities lie. I’ve never been a fan of wrestling companies that had too many belts. So, we’ll probably stick with that philosophy outside any Championships I’ve mentioned!”
Also during a recent iMPACT! Wrestling media call, Don Callis commented the possibility of former WWE Superstar Enzo Amore coming to iMPACT! Wrestling now that he’s clear of his alleged rape incident. Callis said,
“Never say never. You evaluate talent based on need and what you’re looking to do. We have a long term plan for how we engage with talent in terms of who’s gonna be on the roster, what roster spots we need filled, etcetera. It’s not as much of a random thing. So, um, ya know … as with any other talent, I think time will tell.”
