Former WWE Superstar EC3 has said he only returned to WWE in early 2018 to face off with top talents such as John Cena and Randy Orton.
After being released from WWE in 2013 as Derrick Bateman, EC3 returned in January 2018 and had an impressive run in NXT.
Called up to the main roster in early 2019, EC3 was a challenger for the 24/7 Title before his release in April 2020.
Speaking on ‘The Ringer Wrestling Podcast,’ the former Impact Wrestling World Champion explained his plans for returning to Vince McMahon’s company:
“I would have loved to be in the ring with John Cena and Randy Orton. That’s the only reason I came back. Because I remember seeing that promo between Roman and Cena before Cena left for a good while. I remember, I knew how John worked, he’s very much in the moment. They’re not writing for him. Speaking from here, I’m like, ‘God, if this was me, it would be, this would be electric,’ because I kind of work the same way.
