Eddie Kingston and Ortiz had been engaged in an interesting feud with the House of Black (Malakai Black, Brody King, Buddy Matthews & Julia Hart) over the past number of weeks. The sinister group had been trying to drive a wedge between the longtime friends by planting seeds of mistrust throughout the feud.
On last week’s episode of Rampage, Black and King defeated Kingston and Ortiz following multiple distractions. After the match, Ortiz left Kingston lying alone in the middle of the ring.
On this week’s episode of AEW Rampage, the former Inner Circle member addressed his issues with Eddie Kingston, and had some choice words for his longtime friend. This led to Kingston attacking his partner with a steel chair.

It remains to be seen whether this marks the end of the friendship between Eddie Kingston and Ortiz, and if the former has indeed turned heel for the first time in nearly two years.
