After a few weeks of WWE airing vignettes to hype a mystery person, Ember Moon was revealed to be that person during NXT TakeOver 31. She had been sidelined due to injury since last year.
Bo Dallas was speculated to be in this role, but it turned out to be Moon. You can see some of her comments about the return here:
