WWE Hall of Famer Eric Bischoff is all for next week’s AEW Dynamite featuring a title unification match between CM Punk and Jon Moxley.

On this week’s episode of Dynamite, it was confirmed that AEW World Champion CM Punk will face Interim AEW World Champion Jon Moxley in a match that had originally been announced for All Out.

The decision to have the match next week instead has drawn criticism from fans who believe the unification should happen on Pay Per View.

Addressing the match on his “After 83 Weeks” Q&A podcast, Bischoff had no problem with the date for the match.

“I’m for it, for the same reason I was crucified when I made the decision to put Goldberg and Hogan on free TV. I think he should do it for the same reason that I did, which was I was a television company.

“Yes, PPV was an important part of the bottom line, but guess what was more important to Turner Broadcasting than my individual bottom line? Television ratings.”

Bischoff’s comments are surprisingly positive given his usual criticism against Tony Khan, recently claiming that he’s ‘thrown in the towel’ with AEW.
