During the latest episode of his “83 Weeks” podcast, Eric Bischoff commented on how the idea for his new Grateful book came together, what fans who purchase the book can expect, and more.

You can check out some highlights from the podcast below:

On how the idea for his new Grateful book came together: “I’m so excited about it. I met Guy Evans after his book came out – the Nitro book. I think you had us on a panel at one point, and that was the first time I ever met guy face to face. But I was so impressed with the work he did on that Nitro book. He was so thorough and spent so much time and money getting interviews with people we hadn’t heard from before. Just the way he treated the subject I was so impressed with and not because he put me over. There were enough things in that book that I was kind of embarrassed to have to read, but they were true. I don’t mind that kind of stuff when it was true. He reached out to me maybe eight months ago or longer and said ‘what do you think about doing another book?’ I didn’t really have an idea of what that would look like, but he said we’ll just pick up right where Controversy Creates Cash left off – your life over the last 15 or 20 years. I thought, ‘Well, that could be interesting. But what are we gonna talk about that we haven’t talked about on the podcast?’ He goes, ‘No, I want this about you. Not about wrestling so much, but about you.’

“I started thinking about that because so much has happened. It’s hard to believe how much has happened since that time. Loree and I have gone through a lot – we’ve had some spectacular highs and we’ve bounced around the bottom for a while. Along the way, I really learned, more than at any time in my life, to be grateful for the things that I do have and not worry so much about negative situations. It’s a lot easier to work things out when you’re positive and grateful for the things you do have than it is when you wallow in the muck. I wasn’t ever a depressed person, but frustrated and angry probably would be a good description. But learning how to be grateful and looking at all of the positive things that have come into my life as a result of wrestling and how it has affected other people, it got kind of interesting. As we started talking about it more and more, I started feeling really good.”

On what fans can expect from the book: “It’s gonna be a different type of book. We’re gonna talk about all things wrestling and we’re not gonna shy away from that, but it’s more some of the really important things I’ve learned along the way that I’m grateful for. That’s what it’s all about.”
