In 2020, WWE released Erick Redbeard from his contract alongside a plethora of superstars as a result of budget cuts arising from the COVID-19 pandemic.
While speaking to Steve Fall on Ten Count, Redbeard addressed the possibility of appearing as a surprise entrant at the upcoming Royal Rumble pay-per-view event.
Given the Royal Rumble is synonymous with the surprise returns of legends and former WWE stars, it won’t be befitting for Redbeard to show up as one of the returning competitors in the 30-Man bout. The 41-year-old wrestler said,
“As far as appearing, I would be the last to know. I feel like the fans like figure out or through, you know, people call it dirt sheets but it’s basically just journalism without, you know, verified facts. I will sometimes feel like you’ll hear rumors and then all of a sudden they come true. I’ll probably hear a rumor, I don’t know.”
The 2023 Royal Rumble pay-per-view event will take place on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas.
