Eve Torres was a recent guest on Chasing Glory with Lilian Garcia where the former WWE Divas Champion opened up on a wide range of topics.
During the interview, she talked about the memories of competing in the WWE’s Diva Search. Here is what she had to say (H/T to WrestleZone for the transcription):
“I remember, there were all these contests and you’re surrounded by all these women who are in incredible shape. I walked in and remember thinking “Why am I even here?” It’s like Imposter Syndrome, the belief that even if you’re extremely capable, just rocking whatever you’re doing, you always have that subconscious thought that everyone will realize that I’m a big scam. People will just realize that I’m just me and not a great person. You feel like an imposter, and it’s not true, but deep down you just remember who you are.
When I won, I had second thoughts. Can I even do this, can I be this representative? You can remember, whenever a woman comes into WWE without a wrestling background, just the torment you receive. You really need to learn your stripes there, and I felt that right away. Thankfully, I had pledged to a sorority, so I applied that experience forward.”
