UPDATE: We have even more details on the backstage fight between The Young Bucks, CM Punk, Ace Steel, and others that took place at AEW All Out 2022.

Following the media scrum, CM Punk returned to his locker room. As he arrived, The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega were there to confront him. At that point, a physical altercation occurred between Punk and The Young Bucks.

According to a report from Fightful, Ace Steel “shoot cracked Nick Jackson with a chair.” One source said he’s lucky that he’s not in jail for assault over doing something like that.

Multiple sources have said they don’t believe Ace Steel will continue to be employed by AEW following the incident. As we reported earlier here on eWn, Steel’s wife was in the vicinity of the incident as she was “babysitting” CM Punk’s dog.

As far as Nick Jackson having a black eye is concerned, that reportedly came from Steel throwing a chair at him.

There were multiple members of security who were called to break things up. One source said there were “many people” trying to break everything up, while another source said they believed it came to the point of “them [security and agents] trying to save lives.”

As you’d expect, there is an unbelievable amount of heat on Ace Steel, who is supposed to act as a leader.

Following the fight, there was a ton of cursing and shouting until The Elite wound up leaving. Those defending CM Punk say The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega should have never approached him when he was clearly pissed off. Those who side with The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega say CM Punk should have known what was coming after his comments during the media scrum.

And finally, it was noted that Chris Jericho has been credited for stepping up in a leadership role in recent weeks.

ORIGINAL: As we’ve been reporting here on eWn, there was a physical altercation that took place following the post-AEW All Out media scrum on Sunday night.

As you’re likely well aware by now, CM Punk went off on Colt Cabana, Hangman Page, The Young Bucks, and Kenny Omega during the scrum. Once Punk’s portion of the scrum was over, he was involved in a physical altercation with The Young Bucks, Ace Steel, and Kenny Omega.

According to a report from Pwinsider, AEW EVPs Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks were still in the building as the media scrum was taking place and they clearly weren’t happy with what they were hearing from CM Punk while watching it live.

CM Punk reportedly started the physical altercation by swinging fists at Matt Jackson. Numerous people who were still around reportedly intervened during the alleged melee. As of this writing, there is no word on who threw the first punch.

It was noted that while Kenny Omega was present for the physical altercation between The Young Bucks and Punk, he did not get physical with Punk.

Additionally, CM Punk’s former trainer and former NXT coach, Chris Guy (Ace Steel), got physically involved during the incident. According to a report from Fightful, Nick Jackson was either “rocked” or “knocked out” during the brawl. This is due to Ace Steel reportedly throwing a chair.

As far as Omega and Ace Steel are concerned, they got physical with each other. One source said Steel allegedly tried to “bite” Omega at one point, and was pulling his hair. The report notes that Steel arrived at the location of the altercation while his wife was in the vicinity. There are some who say she was in CM Punk’s locker room “babysitting” Punk’s dog Larry.

One source who saw the fight said, “A lot of cursing, a lot of mayhem, and a lot of people not being willing to hash it out.”

Fightful is reporting that AEW’s coaches have been “very torn up” over what took place on Sunday night. There are several people who believe the incident may lead to legal ramifications if those involved want to take that route.

Additionally, Christopher Daniels and Pat Buck were involved in the incident, as they were two of several people who attempted to de-escalate the situation.

As you’d expect, AEW President Tony Khan was not present for the fight, as he was still answering questions at the media scrum. Nobody who was involved in the media scrum following CM Punk’s portion knew what was going on as they were speaking.

Pwinsider is reporting that several AEW staff members and security tried to separate Punk’s side from The Elite. While they were able to accomplish that, both sides continued to yell and argue. Eventually, The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega wound up leaving CM Punk’s locker room area.

It’s worth noting that one of The Young Bucks returned to the hotel on Sunday night with a black eye. It’s rumored to be Nick Jackson, who was legitimately rocked. There are many people in the company who are solidly behind The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega in this situation, as they believe CM Punk’s comments at the media scrum are what trigged the incident.

There are others in AEW who were supporting CM Punk, saying that it was wrong for The Elite to storm into his locker room. One source said he was “outnumbered.” Additionally, it’s well known that The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega often speak to the media, which has caused Punk to believe that they’ve planted some stories that have buried him.

Several other people in AEW have questioned what will happen at Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite TV tapings. Of course, CM Punk, The Young Bucks, Kenny Omega, and Ace Steel were all brought in to be leaders and set examples for the company.

The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega all left Chicago, IL on Monday. The company has refused to comment on the situation, and none of those involved have issued any sort of statement.

For those wondering, FTR and Hangman Page were not backstage when the incident took place. The three men had already left the NOW Arena because they were not scheduled for the media scrum.

And finally, some within AEW showed sympathy for MJF, who returned at the AEW All Out pay-per-view event. There are some that believe his angle and storyline for his return were overshadowed by the backstage drama.
