Former WWE star Fandango has said the “writing was on the wall” for his release before being cut last year.
Fandango was released on June 25, 2021, alongside his tag-team partner Tyler Breeze and others in the company.
Appearing during a virtual fan signing with Captain’s Corner, Fandango recalled his release and admitted that he knew it was coming, despite being in talks for a new role. He said,
“I think we kind of saw the writing on the wall (Dango & Tyler Breeze had a feeling they could be let go from WWE). So, I was 37 at the time, you kind of see the writing on the wall.
“I had a good run and I was kind of already speaking with WWE about possibly coaching down the road and you know, you mentally prepare yourself for that call and it didn’t seem real though for a couple months.”
Since being released, Fandango has worked with the NWA, Control Your Narrative and WrestlePro.
