Things don’t sound good for the future of Lucha Underground.
When asked about the status of season five on Twitter, Executive Producer, Chris DeJoseph, said, “Personally I think it’s dead. But I hope not.” One fan replied by telling DeJoseph how much they enjoy attending the shows, to which he responded with, “Well, at this point it’s on the producers. If you want it, demand it!”

Season four wrapped in November. Since, there has been virtually no news on season five. An official decision has yet to be made, but some talents are still being held to their contracts with the promotion. Several Lucha Underground talents have complained about being prevented from finding other work due to their contracts with the company.
