On his return to NXT: “Everyone keeps talking about this like, ‘Why the return to NXT? Why you go back to NXT?’ For me, Raw and SmackDown is like Hollywood. It’s like the Avengers movies. It’s easy to hide behind special effects, and the bright lights, and the smoke. NXT is like Broadway. There’s nowhere to hide in NXT. I need to test myself. I want to go back to being the real me.”
On how his return felt: “It felt good making a return. It felt good. It felt better kicking Johnny Gargano in the head. It felt good standing back up, seeing him on the ground, seeing the people speechless. That felt good.”
On becoming who he is again: “You know, it’s stepping back into that world, but it’s also stepping back into who I am. I feel like maybe I haven’t been true to myself for a long time. … I’ve spoked to a lot of people. Seems like I’m a popular guy this week. A lot of people want a piece of Finn this week.”
On this being the real him: “I say this is the real Finn Balor. You’re a big fan of my work from before WWE, right? …. Well, let’s just say The Prince is back.”
