Former WCW/TNA Star Daffney Passes Away

Shannon Spruill aka Daffney has passed away. 

She took her own life at the age of 46 years old. Her family and Shimmer Wrestling confirmed the news on Thursday. Shimmer issued the following statement: 

“We are very sad to have to announce the passing of Shannon Spruill aka Daffney Unger @screamqueendaff.  We are posting this at the request of her family.  Please respect their privacy at this trying time.  

I will miss you my logical sister from another mister. -Lexie Fyfe”

She first made a name for herself while in WCW by playing the role of the girlfriend of David Flair and the manager of Crowbar.

She later signed with TNA Wrestling in 2008 where she played  the role of the Sarah Palin parody character The Governor and later the Daffney role.

While in TNA, she suffered several concussions and later issued a lawsuit against the company that was settled out of court in 2013.
