Former WWE referee Jack Lotz, the man who refereed Hulk Hogan versus The Iron Shiek for the WWE Championship in 1984, has passed away at age 86.
According to the PWInsider, Lotz passed on Saturday and his cause of death has yet to be announced.

Lotz worked as a referee for the WWWF before it became the WWF(E). He also worked WrestleMania 1 through 3. His most memorable career money came when he officiated Hulk Hogan versus The Iron Sheik on January 23rd, 1984. Hogan defeated The Iron Sheik to win his first WWE Championship, marking the beginning of the “Hulkamania” era.
Lotz also worked as a stunt man and actor in Hollywood, having worked in movies such as: Raging Bull, The Sopranos, The Seige and Analyze.
