According to a report from Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Live, fans weren’t the only ones caught off guard by WWE’s addition of Paul Heyman and Eric Bischoff as Executive Directors for Monday Night Raw (Heyman) and SmackDown Live (Bischoff).
Dave reported on today’s show that FOX was unaware of the incoming changes, and had they been aware of the changes, they would have preferred to have Paul Heyman on their brand rather than Eric Bischoff.

So far, all we know is that these positions are newly-created and will grant Paul Heyman and Eric Bischoff total control over their respective brands, with the only person they would need to report to being Vince McMahon himself.
