WWE has their eyes on another professional football player. Current Canadian Football League (CFL) running back James Wilder Jr. recently shared on Twitter that he has received an invitation to try out for WWE. Wilder, a former Florida State University (FSU) star, had brief stints in the NFL with teams like the Cincinnati Bengals and Buffalo Bills, before signing with the CFL’s Toronto Argonauts.

WWE has become notorious for targeting other professional athletes in recent years. The likes of Baron Corbin, Roman Reigns, Mojo Rawley, and more are all former football players as well. WWE has also shown a strong interest in bringing in former mixed martial artists. Names like Ronda Rousey, Shayna Baszler, Matt Riddle, and Sonya Deville immediately come to mind.

Of course, WWE legends of the past such as The Rock and Ron Simmons also used to mix things up on the gridiron. It’s safe to say WWE will continue searching the NFL and MMA talent pools for potential stars for years to come.
