Goldberg discussed the Colin Kaepernick controversy. He spoke at the Auctions American event in Auburn. He auctioned off a custom belt and then talked about the controversy surrounding Colin Kaepernick, the 49ers quarterback who did not stand for the National Anthem because he was protesting racial inequality. He said he disagreed with Kaepernick’s stance, saying the following:
“In a day and age, where you have professional athletes not willing to stand and honor that flag, I’m up here to say I’m completely against that. There’s no cause worth fighting for when you step on the people who have tread the ground for you, who have sacrificed lives, who have fought for nothing but that flag.”
