The WWE Universe was sent into a frenzy this past weekend when news broke that WWE Hall Of Famer and Monday Night RAW General Manager Kurt Angle would be making his highly-anticipated in-ring return for WWE at Tables Ladders and Chairs (TLC). A reported mumps outbreak in the WWE locker room affected Roman Reigns and Bray Wyatt, forcing them out of their scheduled matches for the event.
Reigns was planned to reunited with his Shield brothers Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose to take on the team of The Miz, The Bar (Sheamus and Cesaro), Kane, and Braun Strowman in a TLC match. After falling ill, however, WWE decided to insert Angle to take his place. Wyatt was scheduled to take on “The Demon King” Finn Balor, but after he fell ill WWE called upon the services of SmackDown Live’s AJ Styles – and the pair put on a Match Of The Year candidate that was capped off with a “Too Sweet.”
Per a report from Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio, it has been confirmed that both Wyatt and Reigns do indeed have the mumps. All infected Superstars are set to be evaluated next Monday, meaning Reigns and Wyatt will definitely miss tonight’s episode of RAW. The rest of the locker room received shots on Thursday to prevent the illness from spreading. Despite this, there is still a fear that other Superstars could fall ill.
