There has been speculation that WWE could be doing a title vs. title match between Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 38 considering the promotion has been planning for these two stars to wrestle each other at the event for months.
On the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer talked about WWE pushing the possibility of them competing with both titles on the line during a segment on SmackDown. Meltzer was told there are no plans for that to actually happen.
Instead, it was just done at the time because they both happened to have both belts. That isn’t the direction that WWE is going with this storyline.
Reigns will be defending the Universal Championship against Seth Rollins while Lesnar will be putting the WWE Title on the line against Bobby Lashley at the Royal Rumble.
