Former WWE commentator Hugo Savinovich has said that WWE made a “horrible” decision this week after releasing Spanish announcer Carlos Cabrera.

Cabrera, who signed with WWE in 1993, was cut this week after nearly three-decades with the company, in which he called countless major moments and over 25 WrestleManias.

Speaking to Sportskeeda, Savinovich didn’t hold back with his take on WWE’s latest release, saying:

“Each company has a right to decide what to do, that happened to me. But oh my goodness, at least they were leaving Carlos Cabrera when I left. But here, there’s no Hugo, there’s no Carlos. It’s horrible.”

Savinovich added that Cabrera treated every single event as if it was WrestleMania, and also praised his former colleague’s work outside the wrestling world:

“Jim Ross said to me, “What would I have done if I had the voice of Carlos Cabrera?” Commercially, out of the wrestling world, he was one of the top guys in New York. On the Morning Show, on the FM Radio, he was in one of the top ten shows in all languages.”

After Savinovich was fired from WWE in October 2011, Cabrera called the action with Marcelo Rodriguez, who continues to work with the company.
