Ilja Dragunov hopes to become the next WWE NXT Champion but already has his sights set on who he hopes to face from WWE’s main roster.
Speaking on a recent edition of the “Under the Ring” podcast, Dragunov spoke about the potential matches he will have when he’s called up to either RAW or SmackDown and who he hopes to face. He said,
“This company is filled with an unlimited amount of great talent. So, I think there’s so many people I could create something special with,” he said. “One of the people that comes to my mind is definitely Shinsuke Nakamura, people like Seth Rollins who also have all this artistic expressive way with the people. You see how over he is and how much attention he gets.
“As long as the chance is still there, maybe with one of the people who have been the first I have been watching, like Rey Mysterio.”
It’s not just first-time matches that Dragunov is interested in as he recently spoke about facing off with his NXT UK adversary and current Intercontinental Champion GUNTHER.
Dragunov will challenge NXT Champion Carmelo Hayes during this weekend’s NXT No Mercy event.
