Impact wrestling have today confirmed that the Ultimate X match will return at Slammiversary 2021. The match type has not been seen for over two years but will return on July 17th at the Pay-Per-View.
It will be X-Division Champion Josh Alexander defending his title against five competitors, with Trey Miguel, Ace Austin, Chris Bey, Rohit Raju and Petey Williams all confirmed for the match. The choice of competitors stems from last Saturday’s number one contender match at the Against All Odds Pay-Per-View ending in a no contest, with all five challengers involved.

Of the six competitors in the match, just Petey Williams and Trey Miguel have participated in the match before. With Williams boasting two wins out of five matches whilst, Miguel failed to pick up the victory on his sole appearance in the match.
This marks the second match named for the event, with Kenny Omega set to defend his Impact World Championship against Sami Callihan. However, Callihan vs Omega is currently in jeopardy after the former was fired in storyline. The event will also play out in front of a sold-out crowd.
