During a recent appearance on the “Barstool Rasslin’” podcast, Matt Riddle expressed his doubt about Goldberg choosing him as his final opponent for his retirement match next year.
The OG Bro also mentioned that there is no longer any animosity between them after Goldberg was upset by Riddle’s persistent calls for a match.
Riddle said, “Well, maybe. I don’t think he wants to step up to the plate, if we’re keeping it real. Me and Bill, we’ve talked. We were on a flight from Saudi, we were on a Saudi show, one of the Crown Jewels, and we were flying back, and we had some cocktails, and we had some discussion. I don’t think there’s any bad blood. I think he has more of an understanding of where I was coming from. I definitely have an understanding of where he’s coming from and why he finds what I say disrespectful and things like that. I completely understand. I don’t mean it that way. We’re professional wrestlers. I’m just spitting facts, and j can back it up. This is just what it is. I think a lot of people, other people in WWE, took that as disrespect. But it’s like, if you fought in the UFC, and then you’re now in the WWE, what, am I supposed to just forget my whole career? Nah, dude. I can stretch like 98% of…because Brock [Lesnar] is pretty big, and Bobby Lashley’s pretty big. Neither are shabby at mixed martial arts either. But I would say pretty handy, I sure do [know how to take care of myself].”
On November 11, TNA Wrestling star Brian Myers filed to trademark “The System” for use in entertainment and merchandise.
