As seen at Sunday’s (July 15, 2018) WWE Extreme Rules pay-per-view event in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania at the PPG Paints Arena on the WWE Network, Shinsuke Nakamura beat Jeff Hardy to win the United States Title. After the match, Randy Orton made his return to have a stare down with Nakamura then laid out Hardy.
If you recall, Orton has been on the sidelines since May after he had to undergo minor knee. It was not specified which knee was giving Orton issues. Before the surgery, Orton was last seen at Backlash when he was defeated by Jeff Hardy in a United States Title match.
