Jake “The Snake” Roberts spoke about the dangers of a clique gaining power in a wrestling company, and the real-life issues between Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels.

Roberts used his Snake Pit podcast to talk about The Kliq, the infamous group in WWE that included Shawn Michaels, Scott Hall, Sean “X-Pac” Waltman, Kevin Nash, and Triple H. Roberts said of the group, “I didn’t fit in. I wasn’t part of The Kliq. I’ve never been a cliquey guy, man. I don’t believe in cliques. I think they’re wrong, I think they’re wrong for the business. Friendship is one thing, but when you start trying to run a company by your influence and forcing people to do things that they don’t want done because you have the power, it’s not good.”

“The Snake” would continue, discussing how real-life issues between Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels resulted in Vince McMahon holding a conference call just to convince them to work together. Roberts continued, “When I first heard about that, I said, ‘Vince, fire both of them motherf***ers. Fire both, man. They’re not helping your f***ing company. They’re jacking your company off. They’re playing you.’ Are you kidding me?”

Roberts would join WWE’s Hall of Fame as a member of their 2014 class. He is currently signed as a talent to All Elite Wrestling.
