Jeff Jarrett recently weighed in on how his AEW group’s feud with The Acclaimed blurred the lines between reality and fiction. During the December 28th episode of AEW Dynamite, Max Caster released a diss track that targeted Jarrett’s personal life, including his financial history and his wife.
Jarrett commented on the situation, noting that “personal issues draw money” and that “when you have personal issues it has got to be reality-based.”
He also said that “you have to blur the lines” when telling a story in order for it to be effective.
This is not the first time that Jarrett has been involved in a storyline that blurs the lines between reality and fiction. In 2009, he was involved in a feud with Kurt Angle which included Angle’s wife Karen. This feud resulted in Jarrett being written off TV until it was revealed that he had been engaged in a relationship with Karen.
On a recent episode of the Wrestling Perspective Podcast, Jarrett said,
“Personal issues draw money, and when you have personal issues it has got to be reality-based. To this day there are folks that are not really sure when all lines were blurred a couple of weeks ago. But that is to me, if you’re telling a story, if it’s 100% fiction, your audience knows it, to me it truly is that simple, so you have to blur the lines.”
