On the latest episode of his “My World” podcast, Jeff Jarrett discussed how he convinced his wife, Karen Jarrett to be an on-screen heel, visiting Vince McMahon’s mansion, and more.
You can check out some highlights from the podcast below:
On how long it took him to convince Karen to be a heel: “I’d love for her to answer that question, but I think it goes without saying that she’s naturally charismatic and can cut a promo, that I think that’s a gift of God to her. But as far as the heel persona. When we did the angle and the storyline and TNA with Kurt, and all that evolved. But then going to Mexico and kind of evolving that character down there, and her kind of watching me like kind of respond. And you know, there would be times — I’ll say that maybe I’d tipped a canoe a couple of times. That’s in 2014, 15. But in those early days, she’s like, ‘What the hell are you doing? You’re crazy out there.’ And I said, ‘Honey, I’m working. That’s by design. If you believe it, then I know the people are believing it.’ And then I just think — I don’t wanna take credit because she’s so gifted and talented. But I think being right there close to it — even at Ric Flair’s last match, Jay Lethal whispers over to her and says, ‘He’s lost his mind. What in the hell is he doing?’ And Jay’s my partner. But you know, she knew how to join in.”
On Vince McMahon’s home: “I’m the world’s worst to describe style, and Victorian vs. Modern. It’s a nice Greenwich, Connecticut house… Hell no [no wrestling things inside]. Very nice furnishings. You just, you can tell when something is. And if it wasn’t worth a lot, it damn sure looked like it. I mean, it just very, very nicely furnished. I’ll just say that.”
