AEW wouldn’t be dealing with its current dip in top stars if not for ‘Hangman’ Adam Page, Jim Cornette has claimed.

After AEW All Out, explosive comments made by CM Punk about Page, The Elite and Colt Cabana resulted in a fight backstage.

Everyone involved with the fight including Kenny Omega, The Young Bucks, Christopher Daniels, Pat Buck, Michael Nakazawa, and Brandon Cutler have been suspended.

CM Punk and Ace Steel have also been removed from programming, with reports that both men could be fired pending a third-party investigation that is currently ongoing.

While speaking on his Jim Cornette Experience podcast, Cornette held Page as responsible for the situation.

“I can’t even believe they put [Hangman] Page in the tournament, when there’s the weasel that started the whole thing on a public basis.

“And they reward him for being the instigator for their entire company falling apart by putting him back in the world title tournament.”

Page was not part of the fight after All Out and therefore is not suspended.

Cornette’s comments are related to a line that Page made months ago on AEW Dynamite, which was reportedly not in the script.

Punk said during the All Out media scrum that he wants people with an issue with him to speak to him face to face.

It is believed that Punk did not speak to Page after the promo from their feud earlier this year about the off-script line.
