Jim Cornette has praised WWE’s storytelling of the Sami Zayn-Roman Reigns angle, calling the execution “perfect.”
Zayn’s time with the Bloodline ended at last month’s Royal Rumble pay-per-view event, where the (now former) Honorary Uce attacked Reigns instead of Kevin Owens.
Reigns vs. Zayn is scheduled for WWE Elimination Chamber 2023, which Cornette addressed on his podcast. He said,
“With the Rumble being – they were allowed to have unmitigated allowance to kill this guy for as long as possible and nobody lifted a finger. In this case it was happening, it was going, it was suddenly evolving.
“How did we overlook that the February premium live event is in Montreal? This is perfect. We were talking about should Sami vs. Roman be at WrestleMania, no, they’re never gonna do that one. But Sami and Roman in Montreal is f*****g perfect.”
Next Saturday’s Elimination Chamber event will mark Reigns 902nd day since capturing the Universal Championship.
