The Bloodline saga has been universally acclaimed, and the intricate elements of storytelling, coupled with the elevation of all talents that have crossed paths with Roman Reigns over the past 1,000 days, has been evident. Tough as he is to please, wrestling veteran Jim Cornette has also been particularly appreciative of what is widely regarded as one of the greatest stories in professional wrestling history.

Speaking on the latest episode of his “Drive-Thru” podcast, Cornette praised the ‘Bloodline Civil War’ match at WWE Money in the Bank 2023 and “acknowledged” how the fans, especially the WWE Universe in London, was thoroughly invested in the story. However, he suggested that the match did go a bit too long for his taste at 33 minutes, especially considering the show lasted over three and a half hours.

“I understand that at the start they were in no hurry, they were milking it because the issue is over and Roman’s over. Did this match need to be 33 minutes bell to bell?”

Cornette further noted that the finish was perfect, and also praised the pacing of the match before reiterating how the last ten minutes was the crux of the match, and that the match should have been cut short by a few minutes. He continued,

“Historically, World Champions have lost falls in tag team matches to set sh*t up. I didn’t mind that, if they’d beaten Solo [Sikoa], people would have kind of been, ‘ehhhh’ because that’s what you’d expect and obviously Roman wanted to get the family over. So, the only problem I had was goddamn the first 15 minutes was a schlog, wasn’t it?”
