Jim Cornette has made his views clear on the NWA following the crowning of Tyrus as World Champion.
The former Brodus Clay won his first NWA World Championship earlier this month at the NWA Hard Times 3 Pay-Per-View.
The show was mired in some controversy, as it came days after Nick Aldis declared his intentions to leave the promotion once his contract is up.
Aldis has been heavily critical of NWA President Billy Corgan, accusing the Smashing Pumpkins star of being disrespectful to him and his wife Mickie James.
“Now see if that [Tyrus’s title win] had happened before Aldis gave notice as well, no wonder [he wants to leave.] I mean, you know, the rats deserting a sinking ship if you put your belt on this f*cking guy. Right. But that was after that, [it] was in place of what they were going to do originally, wasn’t it? Because they suspended Aldis.”
It has been rumored that Tyrus’ presence on FOX News and the Greg Gutfeld show may have influenced the decision to make him World Champion.
Cornette worked with the NWA until late 2019, after making comments some found to be racist.
