Jim Cornette once banned the ex-wife of Batista from attending Ohio Valley Wrestling events to stop the then-heel from being cheered.
Before debuting on WWE’s main roster in 2002, Batista competed as Leviathan in OVW and would hold the brand’s Heavyweight Championship, which he’d later lose to ‘The Prototype’ John Cena.
During the latest Cade de Rene podcast, wrestling veteran Kenny Bolin said Batista’s then-wife Angie was banned for cheering her man. He saids,
“She actually got banned from OVW. Jimmy banned her. He banned her because she was cheering for the heel.”
Angie and Batista married in 1998 and had a son together before divorcing in 2006.
Batista recently starred in Glass Onion, a sequel to 2019’s Knives Out, and was called the greatest wrestler-turned-actor by director Rian Johnson.
